Project Plan: Gone Crab - A Crabulous Adventure

As you avid reader's might know already, I recently worked on a game project (Click Here for More Info) and just a few days ago I bumped into the leader of the games team, Jack McClenaghan. He explained to me that he was looking for audio students to help him create his second project. I had to turn down the offer due to work load (unable to create foley sounds, etc.) but I offered to score the project. We got talking and I instantly remembered my good friend James Reynolds was looking for a project to work on, so after a couple minutes I pulled James out of class and we accepted the project! Below is the brief, I will only be mentioning that of the score, as it is my responsibility.

BRIEF

Our team will be providing audio assets for an upcoming video game called Gone Crab. The premise of the game follows a crab’s journey along a beachfront as it travels to find new shells to house it. We will be providing both Foley sounds and composing music to accompany the game.

DELIVERABLES

We will be providing a roughly two minute long music loop in a style determined by the game's developers.

BACKGROUND MUSIC

A two minute looping track that has a tropical bounce feeling to it. The song most also be minimalistic in its instrumentation and not contain any radical breakdowns or drastic changes. The track must also give the player a happy vibe and remain upbeat. We’ve also been instructed to make sure the song doesn’t end up being too cartoony or cliche. The references we have received are;

Tropical Island Music, Play Station 2 Style:
