This coming Trimester I have two projects right from the get go! I will be doing a Sound replacement piece of The Lego Movie and creating a Audio Visual project with the Game students at SAE for a song I have created. We will get to the game project in a later blog but for now, here is my Sound Replacment Plan!

Sound Replacement:
My group consists of James Reynolds and Lachlan Gleeson and together we will be creating a full audio replacement of the "Spaceship" scene from The Lego Movie. We will be replacing all the audio in this scene including; dialogue, music, Foley sounds and digital effects. The aim is to have an accurate replication of all sounds so all visual cues make sense - eg. Someone watching the clip without previously seeing the Lego Movie would believe those sounds were a part of the original movie.
A Goal of mine is to achieve immersion in that specific scene. I often find when watching audio replacement scene's that all visual cues are covered but the immersion is not there, the ambiance of the scene is missing. I believe with the group I am apart of that we are capable of making said piece effectively. Lachlan has got amazing talent producing music and using Ableton as a DAW where James is interested in the Foley side and field recordings. I seem to be the most knowledgeable using Pro-Tools as a DAW with personal goals of attaining perfect ambiance throughout all projects I do. Below is a song I created in Pro-Tools in week one, my first time using Pro-Tools for production, using only sample manipulation with elastic audio.
(I will be making another song in Pro-Tools and documenting the outcome and comparing the workflow with Ableton.)
